Thistledown Farm – Bed & Breakfast

Thistledown Farm-Bed & Breakfast is an Agritourism provider, allowing guests the opportunity to experience nature-based and culinary tourism and limited accommodations, all within an agricultural operation.

In accordance with the Province of Ontario Growing Agritourism Act, 2024 an Act to limit the liability in respect of agritourism, we are required by law to provide you with the following information:

WARNING: Under Ontario law, an agritourism provider is not liable for the death or injury or illness of a participant in an agritourism activity conducted at this agritourism location if that injury or death or illness results from the inherent risks of that agritourism activity. Inherent risks of agritourism activities include, but are not limited to, the risk of injury inherent to land, equipment and animals as well as the potential for you as a participant to act in a negligent manner that may contribute to your injury or death. You are assuming the risk of participating in this agritourism activity.

Terms & Conditions

Reservations

  • Normally, reservations are completed on our website. Guests have the ability to review available accommodations, choose their room, enter their own personal and credit card information. To reserve the room the full amount will be taken at time of reservation.
  • If you are unable to book your reservation on our website, you will need to contact our office to make a reservation. Call our office at 1-705-696-1755. We will gladly assist you.
  • If you do not have a credit card or wish to pay by e-transfer, you will also need to contact our office.

Accepted Payment Methods

  • Interac, VISA, Mastercard, American Express, E-transfer, PayPal

Cancellations

All room reservations have a fifteen (15) day cancellation policy.

  • If a guest cancels at least 15 days before their reservation date, they will be refunded the full amount charged, minus a $30 processing fee.
  • If a guest cancels less than 15 days before their reservation date, they will be refunded 50% of the amount charged, minus a $30 processing fee.
  • If a guest has not cancelled by the scheduled date of their arrival, they will not be eligible for any refund.
  • If you need to cancel your reservation, please send an email to info@thistledownfarmbnb.ca , or call our office at 1-705-696-1755.
  • Refunds for eligible cancellations will be processed within 5 business days from the date of the cancellation request. Please note that it may take additional time for a refund to reflect in the account at your financial institution.
  • By making a reservation at Thistledown Farm – Bed & Breakfast you acknowledge and consent to our cancellation policy.
  • We understand that unexpected situations may arise, and we will always strive to be as accommodating as possible.
  • We highly recommend guests purchase travel insurance to safeguard against unforeseen circumstances that may lead to cancellations.

Check-in / Check-out

  • Check-in is between 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, or by prior arrangement. Guests will be required to present a valid piece of government issued photo ID, and a valid credit card.
  • Check-out is at 11:00 AM. If you require a later check-out, please advise us before 9:00 AM on the day of your departure. We will try our best to accommodate your request.

Pets & Service Animals

  • Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate any pets or service animals of any kind on the farm.

Smoking

  • We are a non-smoking Bed & Breakfast. Smoking is prohibited at all times. If smoking has taken place in the house, a cleaning charge of $500.00 will be applied.

Age Restrictions

  • Guests must be 19 years or older to check-in without a parent or legal guardian. A valid government issued photo ID must be presented at the time of check-in for age verification, and on request a valid credit card.

Noise – Partying

  • To ensure all our guests have a pleasant stay, there is no partying allowed at any time. In the event of a disturbance, one warning will be given to reduce noise. If this warning is not followed, the guest will forfeit all fees and will be required to vacate the premises immediately.

Visitors

  • Normally, only registered guests are allowed to enter our Bed & Breakfast. However, exceptions can be made for visitors under certain circumstances. Prior approval must be obtained by contacting our office at 1-705-696-1755.

Children

  • Thistledown Farm – Bed & Breakfast is an adult orientated Bed & Breakfast. Our focus is on creating an ambiance for couples. However, we welcome children over the age of 15 years.

Damages

  • The booking guest agrees that they are responsible for any damages to the premises, furniture, equipment etc. caused by themself and/or their accompanying person and these will be charged to their credit card.

Breakfast

  • Our home cooked complimentary breakfast is available between 8:00 AM and 9:30 AM.
  • Should you have any special dietary requirements, please advise us before your arrival.
  • We will strive to provide you with seasonal fruits, vegetables and products from our own farm, our neighbours and other local producers. Generally, we provide the guests with a breakfast menu for their meal selection at check-in.
